A look inside what we've been building at ReFiBuy to optimize Agentic Shopping Engines
The primary goal at Retailgentic is to share what we learn as we dive deep into the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of Retail/Commerce and Agentic - thus the name Retailgentic.
Today, I wanted to share details on what we’ve been building at my startup ReFiBuy, because I think it provides some insights and learnings into how you can DIY if you prefer for managing Agentic Shopping Engines.
AI Helps you Build FAST! 💨
The first thing I’d like to point out - this is my fifth startup and I like to go fast. As CEO, I’m often pushing the team to ‘go faster’. Well, I have to say, we incorporated Jan 27, 2025 and to have a product out that is this robust, hardened and feature rich in under 9 months is just crazy. No corners were cut, in fact we went so fast we kept adding features to our V1 and historically you eject features out of your V1.
We are fortunate to have access to a group of ecommerce experts that know the type of problems around domain-level information (ecommerce, product catalog, online channels, etc.) really deeply and we’ve built at scale, but AI and, even more specifically building on a foundation of Agents is really incredible. If anything once we got our foundations in place and started getting design partner feedback, we were able to go even faster. Let’s just say, I no longer feel the need to urge to tell the team to go faster 😁.
Our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
The system is built for retailers, brands and the agencies that support them as they sell online. Our goal is to help them prepare for and optimize for Agentic Shopping Engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, Meta.ai, Anthropic/Claude, Xai/Grok) which are growing rapidly in popularity with consumers.
